THE PIRATE SHIP
"Standing up, he crosses the small room to me and captures my wrist in his large hand. I try to break free, every part of myself telling me to run, but I can’t ignore the gooseflesh rising on my skin where he touches me or the way my body wants to press against him. There is something about him that draws me to him, something that casts aside my fear. It is as if I can trust him to take care of me. There is a gentle quality in his eyes that is very much unlike his men. But I do not give in. I raise my chin in defiance and his other hand runs down my cheek. I shiver, but I am not sure if it is fear or excitement."
